The following content was published on behalf of Bitcoin FilmFest. A unique space at the heart of 'orange cinema'. The one that I'm proud to work in alongside other volunteers for quite some time now.
Orange-Pilling Through Art.
A few examples to show that a small but ambitious team—working part-time, no less—can achieve so much.
- Bitcoin FilmFest: a grassroots project dedicated to independent cinema and culture, aiming to promote creative expression, original perspectives, and a sovereign future.
- BFF: a cinematic, multi-day event held annually in Warsaw. It’s not just another conference but a community-driven experience that brings the message of freedom and authentic storytelling to the classy rooms of Kinoteka PKiN (the biggest art-house cinema in Poland).
"WHY BFF - WHY WARSAW?" Kicking off in Jan 2025!
We’re launching a series of short, amateur videos to bring you closer to Warsaw and to what we do. The first recording was made by one of our few core members, Kasia (X: @itsKasiaS), who chose to highlight what is probably the most iconic building in Poland. The Palace of Culture and Science (PKiN), or as we like to call it 'our rebel base'.
The planned series will include about ten videos exploring what makes Warsaw and Bitcoin FilmFest so unique. A few days after each short is published, we’ll host live sessions where you can dive deeper into a presented topic, ask extra questions, and share your thoughts. 📍 The upcoming stream is planned for one evening between January 24-27. Stay tuned—it will be announced on Nostr + X (look for #BFFWarsaw).
Palace of Culture and Science by Kasia S.
We’re proud that such a unique venue becomes the home of our festival for a few days each year. Erected in the early 1950s on Stalin’s orders, it used to symbolize central control, but now, especially during our events, it carries important messages of decentralized scripts. Check out the first, 3-minute video 👇📺 from one of our orange rabbits, who— as you’ll see—has a real love for PKiN! Why? Here’s a quick summary from her:
The Palace of Culture and Science fascinates me because of its architectural weirdness—an exotic socialist creation with references to both Polish style and New York skyscrapers. I’m also amazed by how much it has witnessed. By the way, exactly two months after the 2025 Bitcoin FilmFest, on July 22, the Palace will celebrate its 70th birthday. To me, as a Warsaw local and freedom activist, hosting Bitcoin FilmFest in this place is something truly special. It’s more than just a venue—it’s a symbol. Our rebel base! (Kasia Szczypska)
